This apple doesn't show the same symmetry as the carrot.  More matter seems to be ejected from the exit than the entry, and the angle of spray seems to be greater for the exit. One can't be certain from this single photograph, however, because the lighting is coming from the exit side, leaving the entry side partially in shadow.
