*The visible light phototransistor and the 1-megohm 12-turn potentiometer are substitutes or upgrades to parts provided with the kits.

VPT  Visible light phototransistor - $2.50 - This photo-transistor provides high sensitivity in the visible range of wavelengths. This part may be substituted for an infrared phototransistor when using a visible light source.
