Tools of High-Speed Flash Photography
There are several different ways of capturing high-speed images, including single- and multi-burst flash, high-speed motion picture cameras, rotating prism cameras, and streak cameras. The tools described here all fall within the categories of single- and multi-burst flash. That's because this is the simplest and least expensive way to do high-speed photography. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to get started taking high-speed photos.
The Tools section provides information on the following:
Flash -- basic requirements for electronic flash and some useful accessories
Triggers -- descriptions of circuits for triggering a flash unit
Cameras -- the use of conventional film, motion video, and digital still cameras for recording high-speed images
Timing -- some analog methods of measuring short time intervals
